Yesterday was the day. The 50th Magento Stammtisch Rhein-Main took place. The fact that this meetup happened was not something to take for granted, since the Magento community really was not in the best shape for a while. By now, though, I have gained a completely different feeling. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the topics show that there are more solutions than ever in the Magento / Adobe Commerce space, addressing different groups of customers too. The evening featured a recap of the Adobe Summit with an introduction to the latest products in the Commerce space. This was followed by a presentation of Hyvä Commerce.

The valantic office in Mainz had also been decorated appropriately for the occasion. Before the actual meetup, there was a great buffet with delicious food and freshly mixed cocktails, and we had set up a popcorn machine.
Adobe Summit Recap
Here, Volker John from Adobe, my valantic colleague Pascal Menger, and I presented the latest releases from Adobe Summit 2025. The Summit took place in Las Vegas at the Venetian Hotel's convention center. We were two of 14,000 attendees.
To give the meetup attendees a few immediate impressions, we played a short recap video.
Since we were presenting the recap at the Magento Stammtisch, we focused on the products related to Magento. Most people were, of course, interested in the new Adobe Commerce as a Cloud Service. In my view, the SaaS solution completes Adobe's product portfolio. How many providers can offer On-Premises, PaaS, and SaaS for a commerce system?
I had already been expecting a SaaS solution myself (see my last article).
The second solution we examined was Commerce Optimizer, which allows any backend—such as an ERP, PIM, or another (non-Adobe) e-commerce backend, for example SAP Commerce or Commercetools—to serve as the basis for the new Adobe Storefront.
For the technical attendees at the meetup, there was also some information about the architecture and data model, as well as screenshots of various Admin UI pages from the new SaaS services.
Of course, we also included a few pictures directly from Las Vegas to share some visual impressions.
Along with that, Volker's insights shared directly from within Adobe were hugely valuable.
Hyvä Commerce
The Dutch company Hyvä offers what is, in my view, the opposite approach. Andreas von Studnitz traveled over from Hyvä. He gave us an insight into the roadmap and the basic philosophy behind Hyvä Commerce. There was some insider information too. Development of Hyvä Commerce only started in January. With that in mind, it is already very impressive to see what the Hyvä team has been able to build so quickly.

The new CMS can replace Magento's Page Builder and allows content elements to be created very quickly using a very simple configuration (unlike Magento's Page Builder). Andreas used a demo component to show how the fields for a content element (component) can be defined using a JSON file. The component can then be displayed in the frontend using an equally simple template that Magento developers are already familiar with. Working with the editor itself is very reminiscent of the StoryBlok tool. However, everything runs in the same Magento instance.
In addition to the CMS functionality, an image editor was presented that is also integrated into the CMS. In general, we can expect several more new features here in the coming months. The developers present were unanimously very impressed by the current state of Hyvä Commerce.
Conclusion
Overall, it was a successful evening, brilliantly prepared by many valantic colleagues and the entire Magento Rhein-Main organizing team. The new products and the Magento community are really coming back to life right now. You can see that in various places, such as the meetups springing up everywhere and larger events like the various international Meet Magento conferences.
Adobe is also supporting the community here and continues to have a genuine interest in maintaining Magento Open Source, since it still serves as the basis for the new SaaS services.
