As Andy Gutmans announced on his blog, Adobe is sponsoring a Zend Framework component for communication between PHP applications and Flash/Air applications.
Anyone already familiar with amfphp knows how the principle works. It is about RPC directly with Flash.
For anyone interested, here is a link to the Zend_Amf proposal for the Zend Framework.
According to Zend, the component is already scheduled to ship with release 1.7. I am curious to see it. First, though, there is still the release of stable version 1.6.
And perhaps someone should also get around to fixing the existing errors in the components. For some time, I have been running into an error in the Zend_Rest_Client class that has been in the issue tracker for a full six months already (ZF-2467, ZF-2215, ZF-2044). The bug fix only consists of removing one line. But apparently no one is looking after the REST component. :-(
