It has finally happened. After about four months of hard work, we were able to put the third-generation Wormatia homepage online on Saturday at 15:45.
Here is a screenshot of the homepage, which now always displays the upcoming match. For a clear overview, the last match is also shown.

Behind the scenes, a nice TYPO3 version 4.2 system is running with the TemplVoilá extension installed. My colleague Matthias Bachmann configured the extension beautifully. You could say that, once again, splitting the work between Matthias (TYPO3 / Typoscript) and me on the backend (extension development and web services) worked perfectly.
To keep track of development, we set up a Trac system. All relevant tasks and bugs were recorded there. Our testers (thanks to Markus Wolsiffer and Christian Bub) also recorded everything unusual in the ticket system.
The homepage is the work of many people in general. Thanks to Markus for the great banners. Thanks to Christian B. for tirelessly maintaining the player data. Thanks to David for updating the newspaper articles daily.
One more thing must be mentioned, though. The project was only possible thanks to our main sponsor EWR, who provided us with a brand-new server. This was necessary because of the ambitious web services approach alone. All in all, it is probably fair to say that there is no other German football club website online that retrieves its data through web service interfaces.
To all Wormatia fans, I can only say...
... Come on, Wormatia; enjoy browsing the new site.
