Magento Rhein-Main meetup in Frankfurt

Magento Rhein-Main meetup in Frankfurt

On July 16, I was a guest at Triplesense Reply GmbH in Frankfurt. After the last very successful meeting in Mainz, where we managed to attract a few "non-techies" (with the appropriate promotional effort), unfortunately this time almost everyone there was a technician. Pretty much as usual....

Things started with a great BBQ on the outdoor terrace (sponsored by Triplesense). Plenty went onto the gas grill, so we could satisfy our hunger and turn to Magento topics in a good mood.

Christop Frenes then shared insights into Magento bottlenecks in the database area using a Galera cluster, as well as the Ceph filesystem. Here I played the "bad guy" and had my reservations about performance and scalability, which, in my opinion, cannot be "infinite" in RDBM systems. This was followed by an attempt to hold a discussion about shop frontends and compare Shopware, Oxid, and Magento. Unfortunately, that did not work quite so well, since not every participant knew all the systems in detail.

Around 10 p.m., I left the meetup and headed for my hometown of Worms. It was another (as always) interesting evening. Let us see whether we can manage to attract more project managers, shop operators, etc. again next time.
