I really like the ddev project. ddev is a development environment that originated in the PHP world and now also supports NodeJS.
ddev dynamically generates environments for various well-known PHP frameworks and systems using docker-compose.yml files.
Since I work extensively with Magento, Mage-OS, and Adobe Commerce, I am one of the first people to contact when it comes to these project types in ddev.
I also enjoy programming in Go, the language ddev is written in, so I used ddev as an opportunity to explore the language further. That is how I became a ddev contributor.
At valantic, we also use ddev as the environment for our Magento projects. This led to a variety of internal ddev extensions.
One of these internal projects became the official ddev OpenSearch addon.
