The Magento Stammtisch Rhein-Main took place yesterday at e3n. Anyone who was not there missed an evening full of interesting talks and, this time, particularly lively discussions (we were a little undisciplined and asked a lot of questions along the way). For me personally, it was a welcome change to simply be a guest and enjoy the event. The atmosphere in the converted attic with its terrace was excellent, and food and drinks were very well taken care of.
Best practice: How to build & deploy Magento2
Björn Kraus (Phoenix Media), who had traveled from Stuttgart, introduced participants to the world of Adobe's ece-tools (Magento Commerce Cloud Deployment Tools).

These tools are open source and offer a standardized process for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD). A particular highlight was how interactive the talk was. Björn actively sought dialogue with the participants, which made the presentation not just engaging but also very informative.

He covered details that could easily be overlooked, such as the option to apply Quality Patches or perform cache warming for the Magento cache.
As a special bonus, Björn had some practical tips ready. For example, he explained how automatically setting the cache ID (e.g. using sed) to a value that is unique for a release can be a clever trick, especially when aiming for zero-downtime deployment.

It was obvious that Björn had explored these topics in depth and was sharing valuable project experience from Phoenix Media projects with the participants.

Vibing Mage-OS DevDocs
David Lambauer (run-as-root) provided some humorous moments when he explained how he had accidentally taken on the task of setting up the technical foundation for the Mage-OS DevDocs after joining the wrong meeting. He chose Laravel's documentation system as the technical basis, describing it as very efficient and user-friendly.
Wrong meeting? - Never mind, I'll do it now!
Interestingly, much of the documentation was generated using ChatGPT. This initially led to some discussions within the Laravel community about the use and licensing of the documentation system. Fortunately, those issues have now been resolved. David emphasized that the DevDocs are specifically geared toward Mage-OS, which sets them apart from the wide-ranging Adobe DevDocs.

He named the creation of beginner-friendly documentation as a strategic goal, aiming to offer higher quality than the existing Magento DevDocs through human review and optimization of the AI-generated content.

To Wrap Up ...
As always, the meetup was a great event with plenty of room for discussion.
Do take a look at the shared links and give the speakers feedback. Björn would welcome an exchange about ece-tools, and David would love you to create lots of pull requests for the Mage-OS DevDocs.
Thanks to e3n for hosting the event and to the guests and community members who traveled to attend.
Hopefully we will see most of them again at the next meetup, or before then at the MageUnconference in Cologne.
I am already looking forward to the next gathering!
