For a few weeks now I have owned a Google Chromecast connected to my television via HDMI. Today I discovered a new feature that lets you send the contents of an open tab in the Google Chrome browser to the television.
For this you need the Chrome Cast app, which can be downloaded from the Chrome Web Store.

If you use Ubuntu and your Chromecast does not appear among the available devices, you should adjust your firewall settings.
sudo ufw allow proto udp from 192.168.178.0/24 to any port 32768:61000
Replace "192.168.178.0" with your network address.
